Rules: Rounds Structures

The structure and rules for each round will be explained in this section. Please see the tournament diagram for additional clarification. Naturally, the specific theme and sources for the rounds will be given on the first day of each round, so that nobody can start to work on it in advance.

Rules of first individual round:

The first round will be a wallpaper contest. You will be given the theme and the allowed sources the first day of the round.

The six participating groups will be paired by drawing. Out of each pair, only one group will advance to second round. The members of each group will face off in random pairings, so that there are 6 matches for each pair of groups. From each match a winner will be declared, obviously based on the score received. The group with the most wins will advance. In case of a 3-3 situation, the total score of each group will be calculated, and the group with the highest total score will advance.

Rules of second individual round:

The second round will be a wallpaper-poster contest. You will be given the theme and the allowed sources the first day of the round.

The three remaining groups will face off at the same time. Nine matches will be determined by drawing, with each group having half of its members facing off against each of the other groups. To explain it better, group A will have 3 members facing members of group B and 3 members facing members of group C. The remaining 3 matches will be of members of group B against members of group C. From each match a winner will be declared, obviously based on the score received. The group with the most wins will win. In case of  at least 2 groups with the same number of wins, the total score of each group will be calculated, and the group with the highest total score will win.

The winning group will be awarded the title of Champion of the W.A.R.

Rules of the collaboration round:

The collaboration round will be a wallpaper contest. You will be given the theme and the allowed sources the first day of the round.

Each group will submit one wallpaper. At least three members and no more than six members of the group must participate in the collaboration round. In the submission e-mail you will have to specify exactly what each member did in the wallpaper. The collaboration wallpaper with the highest score will win, and the group will be awarded the title of Most Coordinated Legion of W.A.R.

Rules of third individual round:

The artists allowed to participate in the third individual round are all the members of the winning group from the second round plus the 6 previously eliminated artists with the highest score for their submitted work. Of course in the case of eliminated members whose group made it to the second round, the highest score between their two submissions will be taken into consideration.

The 12 participating members will submit one wallpaper. The wallpaper with the highest score will win, and its artist will be awarded the title of Legend of the W.A.R.

At the same time, the other individual titles will be awarded.

There is no limit to the number of titles that can be awarded to a single artist and submission.
