January 5th was Hayao Miyazaki‘s 70th birthday! Add @MartinHsu‘s lovely tweet to the mix:

@flyindreams @debaoki Glad we got to celebrate Miyazaki-sensei’s birthday! May he live another 430 years and turn into a silvery dragon!

…and this is the result.

i chose a friend of mine wich is constantly painting with oil this enviroments/places only iluminated with a ligh bulb, i only have this photo of one of his works, but kinda makes my point, Miguel, for some reason i love the fact that even in the darker place a firefly can be easily confused with the sun.

The person who inspired me is Andy Warhol and its Pop Art movement, infact I’ve chosen to use the same image and change its color.

I loved this scan because it reminded me soo much of rythem-chan‘s (or loveariddle‘s) original artwork – and she really liked using masterjinn‘s resources for her backgrounds. So that’s basically what I did here – used three textures and a pattern from masterjinn, plus a pink diagonal pattern from AppendixSquared for the background.

So sometime last year I decided my next anime wall (were I ever to make one) was going to be stylized after Mark Weaver‘s Make Something Cool Everyday project.
