The Melody of Tea by MapleRose
I love tea, it's what I drink when I study and do homework. I like black tea, such as English Breakfast (with cream). I also need my music when I do schoolwork.
...I remembered this Tetley red tea commercial, and how I love it. I love the style and the concept, and I wanted to do something similar to it.
The idea was that you know how when you put in a fresh tea-bag, and then you take it out of the water, it makes these pretty tea-coloured swirls? The girl is supposed to be an image formed from this swirls of tea... |

The Big O: Obey Giant (Robot) by Tama-Neko
No matter what you might think of Barack Obama, his campaign sure had some kick-ass design. From the sunrise "O" logo to the choice of Gotham for typography, there was some slick work created. Perhaps one of the most iconic works from the Obama campaign is Shepard Fairey's "Progress" (later "Hope") poster. In homage to both Obama and Fairey, I wanted to make an anime version. The simple use of colors reminded me of the Big O soundtrack art. And hey, it's a different Big "O". |

Alcoholic Dreamer by dslassey
The reason why I made the girl have no face is because when you usually dream about someone you've never met, they have no face. Sometimes you can make a face up, or borrow someone else's, but this isn't always the case. |

Kissed by a Muse by Erdbeermilch
In Germany we have the metaphor 'von der Muse gekuesst werden' (to be kissed by a muse) which means you got a sudden inspiration or have been inspired by something. Muses are deities of inspiration in Greek mythology and often depicted as women.
'Inspiration is something that brings color to a life that would be rather dull and uneventful without it'; that's the thought behind this wallpaper. Sometimes inspiration is captivating and obvious and sometimes it's small and unobtrusive, but it's always there and makes life a little more interestening. |

Katamari: This is how we bowl by Tama-Neko
I originally drew this katamari for work. A team wanted to incorporate a katamari in their internal logo, and one of the graphic designers, knowing I liked Katamari (as evidenced by my previous Katamari walls on my work desktop) tapped me to create it for them. Hence the usage of Google primary colors, the blobby highlights and bold outlines. It reminded me of another illustration I did that involved bowling for Lava Lamps. Except that bowling with a katamari would result in some... interesting outcomes. I thought it was an amusing idea so I took the katamari and added some bowling pins to them to create this. |

Jigoku Shoujo: Hell Flowers by Tama-Neko
The inspiration for the setup of this wallpaper came from oPtion$, the Fake Steve Jobs book about the Apple back-dating options scandal. In one of the first chapters, (fake) Steve describes his Ultimate Frisbee uniform: "black shorts, black socks, black shoes, and a black mock turtleneck T-shirt with a tiny black Apple logo silk-screened on the shirt, a shade darker than the shirt itself, so that you can barely see it. In other words, classy." |

HTK: All That Jazz by Tama-Neko
A fun, sexy wallpaper of a jazz singer, inspired by some taxi advertising for a local Jazz/Blues lounge... For some reason, I've always associated the color purple with jazz, so this wall is purple. |

The
Truth by gaara-no-shukaku I was having this thought that eyes have such significant effect on people's body language or basically, their speech. It's like eyes have this power to know the truth, or even to show it. I mean, we can actually know whatever they talk is a lie or not, just by looking at their eyes. Or their smile is somewhat honest or not. Like eyes can reflect the truth within someone's mind, although not directly. Maybe it has something to do with telepathy or empathy? |

The
Colours of Autumn by MapleRose Inspired by the
colours of autumn in the maple leaves. I love the bright fresh
colours of those leaves against a blue October sky. |

Jumping
Over Your Lies by kawaii-chicken I'm quite facinated
by the way people can lie, it's just something extremely captivating
and disturbing. We all lie and keep our truths. We sit with a smile
trying to hide truths. |

Our Basket Cases - by alterlier there's this
thing we all have, this unexpected thing we keep underneath our skirts,
we dont hide it though, and sometimes we are kind of proud to just
know we have it, even if we are the only ones knowing, another times
we have it but say instead that they are crazy things no one should
care about and we refuse to idea of it's existence even if in the
inside we are thinking the opposite, we all have this attraction for
this unattractive thing, we know that some reason made it bad and
because we dont even bother to know if it was actually bad we decide
to call it, well I like to call it, our fresh strawberries, we carry
all the time this huge basket cases with all kinds of random thoughs,
ideas that we want to do or make real but that to our eyes are just
impossible, for some weird reason it makes it fun, the fact that we
hide it and we try so hard to keep everyone clueless, make us curious
beings, make us funny things, make us humans. |

Origin
- The Beginning by gaara-no-shukaku Origin, or
the beginning - of everything. It's like a starting point, at which
everything that will happen depends on it. Life, growth, maturation,
changes; all relate to its origin. Origin creates future, but future
can never alter the past. The seed is the origin - which is the crucial
part of plants. Light gives a direct influence on which point should
the plant reach. At a certain part, light cannot do anything. It's
all depend on the origin, or the plant itself, that will create changes
on its structure. Light is not the future though, it's just the precursor
of future. |

Blinded
by Love by chubbykitty
My concept is 'blinded by love'. Is that handsome, sweet boy
really who he is? Or is he manipulative and malevolent? I'm showing
both sides coming together. One side with brighter colors showing
a kindle spirit, and another side with darkness flowing through
the boy blinding the girl. |

Error Coordination - by alterlier like a diver
that has found a very precious treasure under the sea and has only
seen the light of power and ambition behind it, it rests within each
one the desire for the gold that we may find in every chance we got,
loosing of course the line, and destined just to cry, at the end we
are coordinated to end up in an unquestionable error, uh? |
