Judging
Elimination Challenge
All Elimination Challenge wallpapers will be judged by at least four judges – either flyin’ or Jay (or whoever is the Immunity Round Coordinator), and three or more guest judges. Wallpapers will be scored blind – judges will be scoring your unsigged walls, so it’s important to submit an unsigged version to ensure fair judging! Also, each entry will receive comments from the judges for feedback.
Judging is based on the following criteria:
- Technical Elements: 30 points
The skill level of extraction, paint, vector, filter, or any other formal elements of the wallpaper. - Creativity/Vision: 30 points
The innovation and idea expressed in the wallpaper, with a minimum use of cliches. - Meets Challenge/Theme Requirements: 30 points
Adherence to theme guidelines specified by the challenge coordinator. - Overall Impression: 10 points
The overall composition, successful execution, “wow” factor involved, and how well the wallpaper stands up against all the other round entries.
Late entries will be deducted -5 points per day for no more than three days.
Immunity Challenge
All Immunity Challenge wallpapers will be judged by Jay and flyin’, to accommodate the short judging timeframe for the Immunity Rounds. Submissions will not be scored; Jay and flyin’ will pick out the top 3 winners and award immunity to the 1st place winner. We’ll make our decisions based on how well submissions express the challenge theme in a creative and technically skilled way.
In case of a tie, a guest judge from the Elimination Round will be asked to cast the tiebreaking vote.
People’s Choice
In addition to the formal judging, we’ll run a “People’s Choice” popular vote after each Immunity Round to let YOU (the community) decide the winners! In addition to getting additional love and pimpage, the top “People’s Choice” winner will be awarded +5 points, which will get added on to their final Elimination Challenge score!
