Round 1 Elimination Challenge Results – BLUE Group

Posted by Jay on Sunday, July 18, 2010 in Judging, News, Round 1

jubjub (65 pts) vs. Yina (IC1 Winner) (83 pts)
darkliam vs. storm-and-fire (80 pts)
Horseradish (63 pts) vs. shigemitsubaki (WILDCARD) (79 pts)
ze (85 pts) vs. afwells (63 pts)
Mysticmom2 (61 pts) vs. chibimisao (69 pts)
Fran (52 pts) vs. Red-Eclipse (71 pts)
StormFangs (67 pts) vs. DREAM (41 pts)

All of our Round 1 Immunity Challenge winners were sitting pretty in the Blue Group :D Yina as the immunity challenge winner automatically advances to the next round, and storm-and-fire as the People’s Choice winner received +3 points on her final score. darkliam was missing in action this round, so storm-and-fire also got a free pass to round 2. Special thanks to tsu for filling in as kickass wildcard for us!

A HUGE thanks to our FABULOUS JUDGES for Round 1!!! They seriously worked hard on those comments guys, WAY more than our minimum requirements. Be sure to thank them properly :) .
All entries were judged by all 10 of our judges (flyin’ included). Each judge was given a minimum # of comments, but were given the option of commenting more if they wished.

Also, be sure to check out the GREEN and RED groups! >D
These groups were just our way of breaking all 32 contestants into manageable posts – no other meaning is associated with these groups :) .

Post links to your AP-submitted walls here once you’re done uploading so we can pimp them properly! Thanks <3

Round 1 Elimination Challenge Results – GREEN Group

Posted by Jay on Sunday, July 18, 2010 in Judging, News, Round 1

TheMajor (59 pts) vs. Dignity
kawaii-chicken (66 pts) vs. yukina-rei
ala21ddin21 vs. yuukine (71 pts)
Brad-M13 vs. moutonzare (66 pts)
saiyagok (52 pts) vs. Milfeulle30 (79 pts)
CloudGer (63 pts) vs. Deto15 (78 pts)

The casualty rate was absolutely BRUTAL in the Green Group – ala21ddin21, Brad-M13, and Dignity dropped out of the competition, and yukina-rei was unable to complete a wall in time due to RL issues – leaving yuukine, moutonzare, TheMajor, and kawaii-chicken to automatically advance to the next round!

Round 1 Elimination Challenge Results – RED Group

Posted by Jay on Sunday, July 18, 2010 in Judging, News, Round 1

dalarty (66 pts) vs. lifeissimple
alenas (WILDCARD) (71 pts) vs. Luna (53 pts)
kuryuki vs. octofly (50 pts)
channelqueen17 (73 pts) vs. Valuna
Felesya (WILDCARD) (83 pts) vs. AssasinXXX (76 pts)
Xyrick (58 pts) vs. X-Angel-0 (WILDCARD) (78 pts)
Albel-Ryuuji (66 pts) vs. highknees (61 pts)

While the Red Group had the second highest number of casualties this round, it also had the most number of wildcards :D Since lifeissimple and kuryuki (who’s staying on as a helper) dropped out of the competition, and Valuna went missing in action, dalarty, octofly, and channelqueen17 automatically advances to the next round!

Special thanks to our wildcards – alenas, X-Angel-0, and Felesya – for stepping in for casualties this round. Especially X-Angel-0 and Felesya, for stepping in on super short 5-days and 3-days notice and still managing to produce entries for the round – you guys rock!

Elimination Challenge 1 Officially Closed!

Posted by flyin' on Monday, July 12, 2010 in Judging, News, Round 1

As you all know, the elimination challenge deadline has passed and your walls are now in the hands of our uber judges, w00t!

However, as of last count we are still waiting on SEVEN walls. If you haven’t already gotten in touch with us to let us know your status (late? Dropping out?), please do so ASAP.

A reminder to the late wallers – you’re not only racking up a -5 point deduction per day (and running the risk of getting fewer if any comments from our uber judges), but (per the rules) we will NOT accept late entries 3 days after the deadline. We’re going to stick hard and fast to this rule, which may sound heartless, but there are so many entries to judge and score this round and the uber judges CAN’T submit their full sets of scores/comments until we have all the walls. If you haven’t been able to tell already, we’re committed to sticking to our schedule so we can announce the round results on time. Looking at the countdown, that means all you late wallers have a little over one day left to email in your entries/descrips 8)

To those of you who have gotten your walls in on time – I’ve started scoring and commenting on them (as have some of the other uber judges), and I applaud the time/effort/thought that you guys put into these entries. Great job!

Immunity Challenge 1 Officially Closed!

Posted by Jay on Friday, July 9, 2010 in News, Opinion, Round 1

Hey hey!!

I hereby officially close the Immunity Challenge for Round 1, and a BIG round of applause for everyone who participated – awesome entries people!!

Before we announce the finalists for Immunity, Flyin and I wanted to address some of the drama that went on this round. While we did receive an overwhelmingly positive response when the walls came in, it seemed there was a bit more drama with the voting process than there should’ve been.

We take feedback seriously. I know I wouldn’t bother submitting my own walls to the AP/MT community if I didn’t care for it. Therefore, it’s just not cool when people take advantage of the polls we use to get this feedback, whether it be via proxies, multiple IPs, multiple computers, friends voting for friends because they’re friends…whatever. That’s just not what this competition is about.

This competition is about breathing life into the walling community again – the sense of friendly competition, camaraderie among wallers with similar interests, and overall just good fun. It’s cliche to say, but I’ll say it anyway: it’s not about winning or losing. It’s about enjoying it.

I hope you get my point :) .

On another note, we’re planning on changing the voting process for Round 2.
The basic equation will go something like this:

Your points = # of Favorites on AP + # of Comments on AP

Would love to hear some feedback from you guys!

Now that the bomb’s been dropped, Flyin will be announcing the final results of the Immunity Challenge really soon, so stay tuned! / o /
