Elimination Challenge 2 Q&A
We knew it was comin’ >D. The Q&A post for EC2′s theme, “Where’s Waldo?”
We’ll be posting answers to commonly-asked questions regarding this theme as we get them here. So if you’ve got a question, you can either comment or email apclash2010@gmail.com.
1. Are we only allowed to have one character in the wall? Or can there be like a main person in the wall, and the waldo-type character hidden somewhere?
Technically, you can have a featured character in the foreground separate from your waldo-type character, as long as you have that waldo-type character hidden somewhere in the wall.
However, the judges may dock points if they think your decision detracts from the theme. Be careful that your featured character doesn’t take all the limelight.
2. I see we can use any mascot from any anime, so does that mean that we have to make a wall with anime of the mascot?
You can exchange characters from multiple series, so long as it still fits under an AP category.
3. Can we put in multiple mascots/waldos in our walls?
Since traditionally Waldo is about finding one character in a big crowd, this is not recommended since it doesn’t follow the theme very well. You can certainly try, and if you can push your creativity to make the judges accept it, go for it. But know that it’s a risk to your Theme score (30 pts total).
4. Is it ok if the character is not whole?
Not whole is okay, as long as it fits into the Waldo theme. For example, if the character’s looking out a window, or peeking past some object obstructing the rest of their body…that’s ok.
5. Is it ok if the character is transparent?
We’re open to creativity. But again, the judges will look at how closely you follow the Waldo theme – and the Waldo games don’t allow any time of transparency. But if you can come up with a creative way to do it, the judges may like it.

Helpers Forum #1 – Wallpaper Cliches?
“Helpers Forum” is a new idea that we’ll try out with our helpers, where if a question comes in that’s really thoughtful and allows for further discussion, we’ll ask all the helpers to pool their responses and publish them in a post like this one 
So the first question for the Helpers Forum is from luna:

Hey guys! This is Jay again, here to bring you guys a bit of news that might interest you in your walling pursuits >D.
Since we know the round 1 theme’s not exactly the easiest, and we’d also like to give you as much assistance as possible (we’re just that sweet), we present to you Grab A Helper!
What are Helpers?
Helpers are here to assist you with brainstorming ideas and/or provide objective feedback on your works in progress. Helpers are (for the most part) not involved in the official judging process for elimination challenges, but we believe that they can provide valuable feedback to those in need!
The main thing to keep in mind is to be nice and don’t harass the helpers. If we hear any complaints from helpers about rude behavior, we WILL dock points from your round entry.
